so i went to a taping of the hour with george strombo today...
the guests were michael ignatieff and the singhs.
we were impressed with mr ignatieff, and the singhs altho not related, were both most charming.

we also taped the new years eve show....that was fun.
george was very friendly with the crowd as was all of the staff.

i will for sure go back for another taping - he said that the smashing pumpkins will be guests in the new year.
i'm down for that!

jury duty update

so i spent this past week doing jury duty at the court house on university ave...the most unglamourous week of my unemployed life...

long story short they didn't need a jury so me and about 120 people sat around staring at each other for the week. we didn't know they didn't need a jury, so we were all sat there ready for the call at any moment....that never came.

most people brought a book, laptop or cellphone....i brought nothing....and almost went mental...
til on day 3 i walked over to mount sinai hospital and bought a crossword puzzle book. up until this week i had never done a crossword. i learned that i don't like crosswords. but it did pass the time, even if i was talking to myself.

anyways, i prolly won't have to go back for 2-3 years which is good. i understand that some of those there had been called up to 5 times. i can't imagine that! i'd do it again if i knew i was at least gonnabe called to see a judge.

so what did i get out of my week at the court house? here i am on a saturday nite in the annex...curled up with a blanket - sick as a dog. sore throat, achy body, dizzy as hell....with the effing flu!

the first thing i thought when i saw the 'jury lounge' crammed with people was that it was an outbreak waiting to happen....and unfortunately, i was right : (

is not getting any prettier....i didn't think it would ...
just venting, and want to do happy stuff like cottaging/camping...staying warm...whatever.

went to the markham fall fair today.
it was almost the exact same as ly. some fun, some sadness.
same percheron in the same stall....only his/her back was worse.
the peta in me has got to write a letter : (
